Feet are really essential parts of your body. Your feet bear the brunt of your whole body. You need your feet to walk around, to stand to run. That is why; you need to take proper care of your feet.
Foot doctors are not found as easily as you can get heart doctors, or brain doctors or skin doctors. A foot doctor is generally known as podiatrist or doctor of podiatric medicine. They diagnose and treat all disorders or diseases and injuries related to the feet, ankles and lower legs.
A Podiatrist has to take the state level and national level medical exams and also needs to be licensed by the state before he or she can start off a private practice of his or her own. A foot doctor has to take extensive training for the treatment of the different foot problems both by medical as well as surgical means.
Now�a�days, due to the sedentary lifestyle and lack of exercise, more and more people are suffering from weight related problems. Since, the feet bear the weight of the entire body, the foot problems are also increasing day by day. Obesity can lead to arthritis and diabetes which can again lead to more serious foot problems which need to be treated by the foot doctors. Any sort of injury to the feet whether it is a fracture or even a muscle sprain is also treated by foot doctors.
Taking regular care of your feet is necessary. Proper foot care comes under personal hygiene. When you do not take proper care of your feet, corns, calluses, heel spurs, infected toenails, bunions, athlete�s foot and a whole lot of common foot problems may arise that are needed to be treated by podiatrists.
Most of the times, people do not take proper care of their feet. Foot Care is something they choose to ignore. But this is not correct. Just pamper your feet a little and you will see how relaxed you would be.
Foot care is not even costly. In fact, you can take care of your feet at home and do not need to go to any massage parlor for this. While taking your bath wash your feet properly with soap. Then dry your feet especially between your toes. You will see how well and fresh you feel all day long.
Regular trimming of your toe nails is also needed. Wear clean washed socks and stockings. Do not wear too tight socks and stockings and do not repeat the same socks and stockings every day.
Wearing proper shoes is extremely important. Wearing wrong shoes or shoes that do not fit properly can actually aggravate your foot problems. It is best to wear leather shoes as the leather shoes breathe like skin. Moreover, wearing high heels can make you look smart and fashionable, but high heels should not be worn for long hours neither should you walk too much in high heels.
